Cawley Chicago Taps Hayes as EVP

Former NelsonHill Managing Director Brings 30 Years of Industrial Brokerage, Development Experience to Firm
February 5, 2018
Cawley Chicago has hired longtime industry veteran Doug Hayes as its new executive vice president.

Hayes brings more than 30 years of brokerage and development experience to the firm, having most recently worked as a managing director with NelsonHill. His career also includes serving as a director with Cushman & Wakefield, and later as a vice president with industrial development and ownership firm, Ridge Property Trust.

Hayes has helped transact and develop more than $1 billion of real estate, primarily in the city and infill markets of Cook County. Most recently, he brokered Preferred Freezer Services' 227,000-square-foot lease and Vega Properties' 156,000-square-foot lease at Pilsen Park Chicago, a roughly 400,000-square-foot industrial park being developed by Clarius Partners and Wanxiang America Real Estate Corp.

During his time with Ridge Property Trust, now Ridge Development, Hayes headed up the team responsible for assembling the 2,500-acre Ridgeport Logistics Center.

“Cawley Chicago had an exceptional year in 2017 as the firm leveraged a healthy real estate market with the ongoing growth and development of our brokerage team members,” said Michael P. McKiernan, the firm's newly appointed sales manager. “We’re looking to extend our reach and productivity with the addition of respected and experienced professionals like Doug Hayes who adds tremendous depth to the firm.”
