Campari Inks Lease to Relocate U.S. Base to 1114 Avenue of the Americas in NYC

Global Liquor Distributor Will Move in Fall 2018, Taking Occupancy of Nearly 65,000 SF
February 27, 2018
Spirits-maker Campari America is leaving San Francisco for New York City.

The U.S. subsidiary of Campari Group will relocate its U.S. operations in fall 2018 to the Grace Building, a 1.53 million-square-foot, 4-Star office property located at 1114 Avenue of the Americas in the Times Square submarket, near Bryant Park.

The company has signed a 10-year lease for 64,648 square feet for the entirety of the 18th and 19th floors at Brookfield Property Partners’ 49-story tower. Gensler has been selected to design Campari America's New York headquarters.

Campari America is currently based at the Hass Building at 1255 Battery St. in San Francisco, within the Levi’s Plaza office park complex. There, about 100 employees occupy 34,487 square feet on the fourth and fifth floors, according to CoStar research. The company has been in San Francisco since 1992.

The relocation is also an expansion, as Campari America says about 165 employees will work from its new headquarters. Eligible employees were offered relocation, according to the company. Campari said the office space will be utilized by North American regional executives and the North America support team, as well as global strategic marketing for its brands.

Campari Group brands include SKYY® Vodka, Wild Turkey® Bourbon, Espolòn® Tequila, Appleton Estate® Jamaican Rums and Glen Grant® Scotch Whisky.

"This move will allow us to be closer to our worldwide headquarters in Milan, closer to our production facilities in Kentucky, better connected to our Jamaica, Mexico, and Canada operations and closer to our key distributor partners in the U.S.," explains Jean Jacques Dubau, managing director of the North America business unit at Campari Group. Dubau adds the move will allow the company to "easily hire candidates with deep spirits experience."

A Colliers International team including Joseph Cabrera, Brendan Cavender, David Glassman, Tim Kuhn and Steve Maneri represented the tenant in lease negotiations. CBRE’s Cara Chayet, Sarah Pontius, Ken Rapp, Peter Turchin and Zak Snyder acted on behalf of Brookfield.
