Continental Real Estate Companies (CREC) has promoted both Sabrina Meerbott and Steven Henenfeld to the role of co-director of retail leasing in the firm's Coral Gables, FL headquarters. The duo will continue to play a central role in growing the company's retail portfolio across the state at a time when owners are increasingly looking to retail specialists for guidance.
Meerbott and Henenfeld will oversee leasing efforts for some of the largest retail assets in CREC's 11.4 million-square-foot portfolio in key submarkets across South and Central Florida, which has been seeing an uptick in local economy as well as the number of national brands locating or expanding their presence in the area, according to the firm.
"CREC’s position as the retail market leader in Florida stems from the expertise of professionals like Sabrina and Steven, who serve as partners and advisors to our clients," said Carol Brooks, CREC president and co-founder. "Retailers from across the country are setting their sights on Florida just as property owners look to maximize value and grow their portfolios. Sabrina, Steven and the rest of our retail team have positioned CREC as a valuable source of market intelligence for tenants and owners alike."
Meerbott has been a member of the firm since 1999, and grown CREC's retail agency leasing practice while managing a team handling a portfolio of 4.8 million square feet including Kendall Mall, Weston Lakes Plaza, LA Fitness Plaza and Doral Plaza. She is a member of ICSC, and earned her MBA from Florida International University in Miami and her bachelor's degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
Henenfeld has worked with a number of institutional owners during his career at CREC spanning the past decade with a portfolio that includes Kendall Mall, Weston Lakes Plaza, Miller Square, West Sunset Square, Shoppes at City Centre, Country Club Plaza, Gables Grand, and Red Road Commons. He is also a member of ICSC, and earned his bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in real estate from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
