Retail specialist William Wright joined CBRE’s Oakbrook, IL, office as managing director. He will lead 33 brokers in the retail practice and land group in addition to the professionals in the regional retail investment practice. The senior executive will also help manage overall regional operations as a member of CBRE’s Chicago Leadership Team.
Wright’s career has come full circle since he joined the
commercial real estate industry 15 years ago. He got his start as a CBRE research analyst in the summer of 1998 and was promoted to associate in the Chicago retail corporate services group four months later. The top producer moved to CBRE’s
Investment Properties Group in 2002. He completed the sale of more than 4 million square feet of
retail space valued at nearly $500 million during his nine years at the firm.
Wright’s experience also includes three years working on new development projects at InSite Real Estate and more than two years overseeing Mid-America Real Estate Corp.’s Net Lease Investment Sales Practice throughout the Midwest. In addition to his retail expertise, Wright has focused on leasing, land components and capital markets.
