Cutt Abelson, Jonathan Gilfillan Join Houston Office as SVPs

Berkadia Commercial Mortgage hired Cutt Abelson and Jonathan Gilfillan as senior vice presidents in its Houston office. The veteran commercial real estate loan originators will run the local branch and report to Mike Bryant, senior vice president.
The former mortgage bankers joined Berkadia from Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC, formerly known as Live Oak Capital where they served for seven years.
Abelson also worked at McCord Development in Houston as assistant director of investments for the multifamily bond program and land management unit. He also served as an associate/real estate consultant with a national accounting firm.
Gilfillan experience includes two years as at Spaulding & Slye Colliers’ Capital Markets Group in Boston as a financial analyst and five years at HFF in Buffalo, NY, and Houston as an investment analyst.
Berkadia, part of Berkshire Hathaway’s portfolio of privately held companies, is a capital source for the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation or refinance of commercial real estate properties. It is a special, master and primary servicer managing a portfolio of more than $236 billion as of December 31.
