Apt. Developer Buys Bowling Alley for $8 Million

New Owner Plans Redwood City Multifamily Project
June 11, 2012
Urban Housing Redwood City purchased the former bowling alley at 2580 El Camino Real in Redwood City, CA, from a group of investors led by Boicelli & McMillis Trust for $8 million, or about $184 per square foot.

Mel's Bowl, a 43,428-square-foot property constructed in 1959, is on about 2.5 acres. The new owner intends to demolish the bowling alley and replace it with an apartment complex, after community approval.

J.J. Taughinbaugh, Kirk Trammell and David Cutler of Marcus & Millichap represented the sellers.
