American Family Care Partners to Open 300 Additional Urgent Care Medical Centers

American Development Partners Agrees to Fund Franchise Expansion
July 31, 2017
American Family Care, a provider of urgent care, occupational medicine and primary care, has teamed up with American Development Partners to open 300 additional American Family Care locations across several major U.S. markets.

American Development Partners will work directly with new and existing American Family Care franchisees by investing up to $1 billion to open new locations by facilitating the acquisition of land, overseeing construction, financing equipment and providing working capital.

Birmingham-based American Family Care and Nashville-based American Development Partners have selected several key markets for expansion based on an analysis of demographics, consumer behaviors, emergency room wait times and other data related to local health care access, according to Dr. Bruce Irwin, founder and CEO of American Family Care.

The selected markets include metropolitan areas in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Texas.

American Family Care has nearly doubled its number of franchise units during the past 48 months. Currently, the company has more than 180 medical centers across the U.S., including 120 franchise locations and 66 corporately owned facilities.

The new agreement with American Family Care comes on the heels of several other major deals recently struck by American Development Partners to fund the expansion of other franchise organizations, including Church's Chicken, Checker's, and Captain D's.
