Boston Properties and Delaware North Cos. filed a letter of intent last week with the Boston Redevelopment Authority offering details on the pair's proposal for a new 1.7 million-square-foot mixed-use development on a 2.8-acre parcel on Causeway Street next to the TD Garden complex, the 19,600-seat arena that serves as the home of the Boston Bruins and Celtics in downtown Boston.
According to the filing, the massive mixed-use development would include up to 600,000 square feet of commercial office space
, 300,000 square feet of multi-story retail space
, 500 residential units measuring approximately 600,000 square feet, a 200-room hotel and an 800-space underground parking garage.
The project would also include a new entrance to the TD Garden complex and MBTA North Station. The developers indicated an anticipated ground breaking in early 2014.
