Sperone Westwater Inc. acquired the apartment building at 257 Bowery in lower Manhattan from 257 Bowery LLC for $8.5 million, or about $708 per square foot.
The five-story, 12,000-square-foot property was built in 1920 in the Soho submarket, near the Museum of Contemporary Art and a new Whole Foods. It features ground-floor retail space and upper-level residential space and was vacant at the time of sale.
