Mohr, AsiaPac Agree to New Strategic Partnership
Tenant Rep Firms Join Forces to Represent Clients Internationally
August 27, 2009
Mohr Partners Inc., a Dallas-headquartered corporate real estate services firm headed by Robert Mohr, and AsiaPac International, a San Jose, CA-based tenant representation company started by Patrick Moultrup, formed Mohr AsiaPac Global Partners, a joint venture referral agreement to expand its services worldwide. The tenant-oriented companies have had a six-year strategic partnership where AsiaPac delivered foreign real estate services for the international portion of Mohr’s customers’ portfolios.
“We just realized there was some much commonality in what we (Mohr and AsiaPac) were doing, it didn’t make sense for us to look for different international providers in different parts of the world,” said Ted Fredericks, president of Mohr Partners.
The new deal expands on the original and now allows AsiaPac to send Mohr referrals (when it was the reverse before), and allows Mohr to represent AsiaPac’s Europe and Asia Pacific-based clients that need representation in North America and AsiaPac to service Mohr’s national clients that have international needs.
“The joint venture makes sense because Mohr Partners and AsiaPac are two of only a handful of companies worldwide that represent tenants solely, not landlords,” said Moultrup, the president and CEO of AsiaPac International who also founded Staubach International.
The eight-year-old AsiaPac has 26 owned offices in more than 71 major markets of Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America, and offices in 17 U.S. markets. Mohr Partners, a 2008 CoStar Power Broker Award winner, was created in 1986 and has 16 offices around the country.
