CLO Sets the Stage for the Future
Civic Light Opera Association of Greater Pittsburgh Buys Former Priority Plastics Facility
November 6, 2009
The Civic Light Opera Association of Greater Pittsburgh (CLO) purchased 997 Sherosky Way in Springdale, PA, from Priority Plastics for $1.1 million, or about $16 per square foot. CLO plans to use the facility for set production and storage.
Following a fire, owner Fortco Plastics renovated the 68,000-square-foot building in 1991. The company used the facility, features 28-foot clear height, five loading docks and a drive-in bay, for manufacturing. Renamed Priority Plastics following a merger, the owner closed the facility in early 2009.
CLO held its first season in 1946. It has filled Pitt Stadium, the Melody Tent, The Civic Arena, Heinz Hall, and the Benedum Center. In 1989, the organization began the CLO Academy of Musical Theater.
Scott Long and Gene Galiardi represented Priority Plastics. Gary Roberson, Tom McCaffrey and James Geiger represented CLO.
