Construction Begins on Shops at Bluffview

Archstone-Smith To Deliver Dallas Mixed-Use Development in February 2008
July 27, 2007
Archstone-Smith broke ground on a new, mixed-use development at a retail center formerly known as The Plaza on Bachman Creek. The center, now called The Shops at Bluffview, is at the intersection of Lemon Avenue and Northwest Highway, at the north end of Dallas' Love Field.

Upon completion, the Shops at Bluffview will combine residential apartments constructed above retail space. Archstone-Smith plans to demolish approximately 25,000 square feet of the existing shopping center, clearing way for the new construction. The new mixed-use center will total 205,000 square feet of retail space overlooking Bachman Creek, as well as 181 loft apartments. Work on the retail portion of the new center is scheduled for completion in February of next year.

Archstone-Smith purchased The Plaza on Bachman Creek in 2004. The Denver-based developer broke ground on May 21st after deciding on a redevelopment design, and after more than a year of planning.
