Trademark Property Company's Watters Creek at Mongtomery Farm in Allen, Texas is celebrated the opening many tenants at its 620,000-square-foot first phase at the end of May.
Trademark calls the 52-acre Watters Creek an "urban retail resort". While the first phase includes 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, as well as 230 multi-family units and 90,000 square feet of office space; at completion, it will encompass 1.15 million square feet of mixed-use space, including residential, office, retail, dining, entertainment and hotel uses. The development is situated within the 500-acre Montgomery Farm master-planned residential community.
Tenants on the roster include Cheesecake Factory, Bath & Body Works, DSW, Le Creuset, Gymboree, New York & Company, Sample House, Victoria’s Secret, Strasburg Children, The Boardroom Salon for Men, Celebrity Bakery and Café, Paciugo, Woodlands Grill and Gathering Place, Potbelly, and Patsy Grimaldi’s Pizza. Trademark built the development to LEED standards. Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark commented, "We incorporated elements such as increased insulation in walls and ceilings, reflective rooftop systems, use of recycled and local building materials where possible, and a recycling program for construction and tenants, both during and after construction."
To create an "urban retail resort", Trademark utilizes the site's existing topography, which includes a creek and pond. Amenities added include nature trails, fountains, a community fireplace, a town green and amphitheater and a public art collection. Montesi commented, "We believe this combination of dense urban design in the nation’s suburbs is where smart development is heading. People are looking for a place they can live, relax, work and shop all in the same place."
