CoStar Careers

Your career development can be both exciting and challenging. CoStar ensures employees are equipped with the resources and support needed to navigate career plans successfully. Each employee's career is an individual adventure and we aim to provide an environment where you can make the decisions that are right for you.

A smart career development environment recognizes that not all individual contributors want to become people managers; that a professional in one area of the business may seek a cross-functional change and try a completely different career discipline; that some people are satisfied in the role they have and want to be challenged or enriched within their existing position. It's up to you.

What's so fantastic about our environment is that you can set your own pace for your career growth. Once you begin as a Research Associate Trainee at CoStar, how quickly you advance is up to you, thanks to our promote-from-within philosophy. If you have a solid customer service attitude, self motivation and the ability to think on your feet, you have a bright future at CoStar.  You can also explore career paths in Sales, Accounting/Finance, Customer Service, Facilities, Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, or Product Development/Systems. If you've got what it takes, there's really no limit to how far you can go.

Nearly 100% of Researchers begin as new hires in either the Portfolio Path or the Field Research Path.  Each path offers growth within itself and to other paths. Growth opportunities include advancement as an individual contributor or as a manager.  The specialty functions of initial research and tenant research also offer individual and management growth opportunities within their own path.  Initial and Tenant Researchers may move into the portfolio path or field research path upon completion of portfolio or field training.

The following slides provide a road map to the research career path opportunities:
